New York, NY, Feb 11, 2004 - Droplets, Inc., today announced the appointment of James Shapiro as Executive Vice President of Business Development and Chief Operating Officer. Previously, Jim served as Executive Vice President at ResQNet, a provider of Web-enabling technology for legacy applications. At ResQNet, Jim was responsible for growing the business through developing strategic partner and OEM channels. Accomplishments there included closing OEM agreements with IBM to incorporate ResQNet into its Host Integration product offerings as well as other strategic alliances and sales to local and federal government customers.
Prior to ResQNet, Jim had a distinguished career with Reuters, Mead Data Central (Nexis/Lexis), Market Vision, Track Data, Vickers Stock Research, Prime Computer, and IBM.
“Jim is a veteran in marketing software platforms and applications and has a superb track record of creating successful relationships with top tier customers and partners. We are delighted to have Jim join our team,” said Droplets Chairman Philip Brittan.
Jim will help drive the sales success of the Droplets User Interface Server and Software Development Kit with a specific focus on large OEM partnerships and Government sector. He will also help spearhead new directions for the company, including the upcoming COBOL and .NET versions of the Droplets SDK and the introduction of ready-made solutions built on the Droplets platform. These new solutions will include the Droplets Desktop Portal, already in use by Forbes.com and IBM, the Droplets Request For Information application, already in use by the U.S. military, Droplets Secure Chat, and others.
