Boston, MA, November 7, 2002 - Today at Forrester’s annual Executive Strategy Forum, Droplets, Inc. announced details of the Quick Start solution to help midsize to large enterprises deploy and evaluate Droplets-based applications on top of existing packaged business applications without having to dedicate internal development resources.
Customers have recently turned to the Droplets platform to solve the functionality and end-user productivity weaknesses highlighted in Forrester Research’s report, “Packaged Apps Fail The Usability Test” (May 2002). Companies like Eastman Chemical Company and Electronic Insurance Office, Inc. are turning to the Droplets User Interface Server & SDK to deploy rich graphical user interfaces with the exact look and feel of desktop software, while maintaining the Web’s server-side business logic architecture.
“Droplets is a perfect solution to customers with large investments in application suites from companies like Cognos, i2, PeopleSoft, SAP and Siebel,” said Philip Brittan, president and CEO of Droplets, Inc. “By adding a more flexible, rich GUI on top of their back-end business processes, customers can wring more value out of the software investments they have already made.”
To help customers evaluate the Droplets platform on top of their existing applications, Droplets Inc. has launched Quick Start, a bundled software and services solution that allows them to deploy and evaluate a live, working application while devoting little or no internal development resources.Quick Start solution packages range from a development license of the User Interface Server & SDK with two days of on-site training, to a fifty concurrent user production license plus a professional services package of three software developers for four weeks.
Quick Start is delivered by Droplets, Inc. solution partners such as MEC Technologies, who provide rapid development and deployment services. “Quick Start is a low-risk, low-cost way to re-face, integrate and extend existing investments in ERP, CRM, supply chain and collaboration,” said Somnath Banerjee, CEO of MEC Technologies.
